I used to wonder. Could you really make a living mucking about on the Internet?
Or be paid to take photographs? Turns out the answer was yes to both.
I’ve worked in strategy. In creative. In technology. In photographic studios. On location. For famous ad agencies. For monolithic consultancies. I’ve led start-ups too. Some started as scribbles on the back of a napkin. Some worked out. Some didn’t. But it’s always better to invent the game than to play by the rules.
I am now a research scientist working in risk and disaster reduction. The core focus of my work is within geospatial analysis and machine learning (using knowledge distillation models and convolutional neural networks).
This site is curiosity, made public. It reflects my interests and work practices. It might get a little weird at times but hopefully, you'll always find it interesting.
